WORLD RABIES DAY 2018 EHI VOLTA REGION & SUHUM PROGRAM

At a meeting of RIWA on July 18, 2018, it was decided by the members to split the 2018 WRD activities into two (2) events...

1. Continuation of the Suhum Vaccinations and Education

2. World Rabies day Launch in Ehi, Ketu North District, Volta Region

SUHUM

To maximize the number of pets to be vaccinated in Suhum, it was also decided to move the vaccination dates to a time when the school children are still on vacation and for 5 days versus the 3 days performed in 2017.

In addition, RIWA will have a Stakeholders meeting to include the MCE and also a meeting to sensitize the chiefs.

WORLD RABIES DAY (WRD) LAUNCH

To extend the area covered by RIWA in their rabies awareness campaign, WRD will be launched in the town of Ehi, located in Ketu North, Volta Region.

With the support of Hon. S. Attatsi, the official launch will include the first year anniversary of the death of Forfoe, the beloved dog of the town.

Free Vaccinations will be held on September 28 and 29 at 5 sites in the Region.
